Dr Sleep is indeed a sequel to The Shining. I haven't picked it up yet, but I hope to get around to reading it sometime. 
I'm currently reading Blood, Sweat, and Tea, which is the autobiography of a London paramedic, and is basically a collection of his blog posts. It's fantastic, I haven't powered this quickly through a book in a long time.
