Genevieve

Looking out the window was almost a painful task for Fallele. Or at least on this very day, for something much more exciting lay inside the small den, making the outside world seem like a distant, forgotten memory. An uninteresting one, at that. For what lay with her in the den was far more beautiful.
Rain trickled down outside of her shelter, sprinkling down on her pack mates like a light shower. She watched as the little droplets pitter-pattered as far as she could see. Which wasn’t far, of course. The den entrance was like a window, blocking her from what she saw but not being able to reach it. Fallele kept on telling herself that she didn’t miss the rain. That she didn’t miss brushing her fur against her loves. But deep in her gut she knew that the minute she could leave the den with her one surviving daughter would be a wonderful one.
Fallele turned her attention back to that one survivor, and gazed at her with the deepest affection a mother could offer. The little pup was pitch black, like her father, and had the largest and roundest eyes, like her mother. She was a dainty little thing, and had her siblings been alongside her, she probably would have been the runt. A sharp pain stung in the new mother’s heart as she thought of her three stillborn children rushed through her head. But she had learned to quickly shake off this feeling, and be grateful that young Genevieve was alive and well. This fact only made her more loving of her daughter, for she was a blessing.
And Fallele would be the best mother a pup could wish for.

The names! Where did you get such beautiful names?

Jane- Inspired by the first song in English I heard (Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin)
Genevieve- Means White Wave in the Celtic language (named her his for ironic purposes) and... I just really love the name. c;
Fallele- My grandmothers name <3
